The basketball move and basketball drill in this tutorial is one that Lillard used against the Sacramento Kings to drive for a clutch monster slam.

You can see the full highlight in the NBA YouTube video titled “Damian Lillard Splits the Defense and Drives in for Monster Slam”.

The move is a pretty dangerous, because you’re pushing the ball right between two defenders with inches to spare, but if you push the ball quickly and from a hesitation dribble you’ll be able to catch a lot of defenders off guard.

The other key point is to make sure you have plenty of open space behind those two defenders where you can dribble the ball with that push crossover.

The good part about pushing the ball out like this is that allows you to really push off with your first step to get back to the ball.

You can practice the move by putting 2 cones really close together and splitting them.

On top of helping you with this type of game situation it will also help you learn how to develop your dribbling precision.

Give this Damian Lillard crossover drill for double team splitting a try, and once you get it down give it a try in a game and let us know how it goes in the comments below.
